Quarry Daze

2017- ongoing

Left behind from Singapore’s land reclamation development efforts from the 1960’s to the 1980’s, the quarry has since become an autonomous site with a life of its own, lending itself to the various peculiar activities and artefacts that was left behind, as well as the rumours and stories shared by those who escaped there to find solace over the years. These narratives stimulated my sensory experience of the site, blurring my perception of reality every time I enter this space.

Quarry Days is a series of durational video works detailing some of the peculiar incidents I’ve encountered within the site. An ongoing exploration into moments of serendipity within an abandoned autonomous space located between fact and fiction.
